Gluing all these social networking sites together should NOT be this hard...

One of the things I want to do with "Cables from the Bomb Shelter" is notify folks that a new Cable (aka Message, aka Blog Update, ad nauseum) has been posted. That shouldn't be too hard since I have a RSS Feed to work with.

Ha! Sending output is a bit of a problem. Not a surprise really.

Twitterfeed will get the data to Twitter and Facebook. Hellotxt will go to Foursquare, Buzz and Myspace. Ping.fm will hit a few other sites. LiveJournal output seems to be broken on most, and linking one feeder to another (e.g. Twitterfeed to Hellotxt) is dicey. I miss the days when everyone just used the API to Blogger!

Time to take a step back, crack open a Coke, listen to "Sweet Home Alabama" and rethink this.

PS: You may ask "Why not just write your own?" Well, I'm trying to reduce the amount of custom and self-hosted software I used to run the station to make it easier on me. Really!
